Visa came to us looking for solutions to update their Visa Checkout landing page and banner ad campaign. We reorganized the information on the landing page to make the process more understandable for merchants interested in implementing Visa Checkout. For the banner ads, we designed a series of icons to represent the numerous different industries Visa Checkout services.
Black History Wall
To celebrate Black History Month, we created an inspiration wall up in the AKQA café showcasing black icons and asking how black culture has inspired you personally. We’ve showcased a wide range of influential cultural figures, illustrating all the different ways that black culture has made a lasting impact. We encouraged everyone in the office to fill in an 'inspiration card' and add their words to the mix.
Call of Duty World League
The Call of Duty series is the most popular first-person shooter of all time; unsurprisingly it has its own eSportsleague operated by Activision. The Call of Duty World League is a worldwide eSports league that offers competitive play for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3.
I worked with Activision to create a series of "Match of the Week" social posts that promote matches and drive hype to the games. I designed the posts to highlight top team players while increasing excitement for upcoming matches. These posts were used on social media (Facebook, Twitter and YouTube) and the Call of Duty World League page.
Dreamforce Cloud Analytics Wave Wall
Salesforce was launching the Salesforce Analytics Tool at their annual enterprise cloud computing conference, Dreamforce 2014. I worked alongside a team of designers and engineers to create the Cloud Analytics Wave Wall. It is an interactive game that allows the customer to try out the Analytics Tool through a series of quizzes, which tests their knowledge in hypothetical business scenarios and demonstrates the Analyticcs Tool's capabilities.
We created four touch screen kiosks and an LED wall in front of them that reflected the graphical display on the kiosks.
All Work And No Play
All Work and No Play is a handmade book that illustrates the growing insanity in an overworked mind. The phrase ‘all work and no play’ is taken from Stephen King’s The Shining. Those words are the only ones that appear in the book, indicating a state of monotony and conformity. The increasingly large holes burned into the pages symbolizes an irreversible decay of sanity. As the book progresses, the words also become more chaotic. At the end, the hole has burned through the whole page.
Sal Curioso is a restaurant with an elaborate brand story. Upon the success of Madame Sixty Ate, another restaurant by same creators, Sal Curioso was created as a sequel. Both restaurants represent a character that was created as part of the brand story. Madame Sixty Ate is an explorer who discovers new exotic animals on her travels; and Sal Curioso is an inventor who design and build contraptions that cook and prepare the strange animals that Madame Sixty Ate provides. This is a project I collaborated on during my internship with Substance, an award-winning design agency based in Hong Kong and Paris. I was primarily responsible for designing the illustrations and restaurant installation, and assisted with the overall branding.
